This is because the formula, as well as displacing dirt, also releases any odour trapped in the fibres of your carpet which can then dissipate into the air. How to use Vanish Gold Carpet Cleaner:

Vacuum clean your carpet thoroughly before applying Vanish Gold Carpet Cleaner. Before opening the bag, shake it thoroughly to maximise the coverage area. Pull the sealing strips away from the bottom of the bag and strip them away completely. Hold the bag by the top handle and shake the bag gently to distribute the powder evenly across your carpet. Do not add water to the powder.

Using a soft brush, immediately begin to brush the powder into your carpet. Allow the powder to work until the carpet is completely dry. This should take at least twenty minutes. Vacuum up the dried powder thoroughly.

Keep the room ventilated during the drying and vacuuming process. If there is any powder left in the packet, gently roll up the pouch towards the adhesive tag, gently lift the tag and pull it over to reseal. Sometimes there may be light patches after vacuuming as the powder can bind to stains. In this case remove the residue with a soft brush and vacuum again.

It is recommended that you test an unobtrusive part of your carpet before fully applying the product to test the colour fastness of your carpet.

Do not use this product with water filter type vacuum cleaners, water extraction machines, shampooer machines, or any other machine treatment involving water.

Keep this product out of reach of children and pets. Do not breathe in the powder or its dust when applying and vacuuming the product. Do not allow the product to touch your eyes or skin. Ventilate the area after use. Store the product only in the original container. If the product gets into your eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Do not eat or swallow the product. If swallowed seek medical attention.
